The spanner "Type of election" covers the six data columns; the stub heading "Type of case" spans both heading levels. The three UD cases rows print a short dash rule ("--") in the last column (Expedited elections under 8(b)(7)(C)); per the convention these are transcribed as empty cells, in contrast to the printed 0 that appears there for the other case types. Footnote markers are present but no footnote text is printed within this crop: a raised 1 on the caption (caption omitted as instructed) and a raised 2 on the "Regional Director-directed" column heading, kept as "Regional Director-directed^2".
