What is NLRB Stats Archive?

NLRB Stats Archive is a browse-only archive of the statistical tables published in the U.S. National Labor Relations Board’s historical Annual Reports. Each table is reconstructed as a searchable data grid and shown next to a scan of the original report page, so every number can be checked against the source. This first release covers fiscal year 1962; further years from the fiscal years 1936–2009 run are being added.

Where the data comes from

The source is the NLRB’s Annual Reports — the agency’s yearly account of unfair-labor-practice and representation casework, elections, and related activity — covering fiscal years 1936–2009 (74 reports). As works of the U.S. federal government, these reports are in the public domain.

How the tables were made

Each report page was scanned and read with automated table-extraction software; lower-quality tables were re-checked with a vision model, and a normalization step turned the recognized cell text into numbers while keeping the original text. The full-page scan shown with every table is the authoritative record.

How to read the numbers

The figures are a best-effort reconstruction of decades-old scanned tables and may contain recognition errors. A · marks a cell whose value could not be read; a blank cell was empty in the original. Always confirm a figure against the source scan before relying on it.

Reuse & citation

The underlying data are public-domain U.S. government records, so you are free to reuse the figures. Please verify them against the scans and cite the original NLRB Annual Reports as the primary source.
