Hyphenated line breaks in the headings were repaired ("elec-tions", "rep-resenta-tive", "em-ployees"/"employ-ees", "choos-ing rep-resentat ion"); in the printed heading for column 6 the word "unions" breaks as "union / s". The crop is cut off after Wyoming: the Mountain division subtotal and the remaining divisions continue on the following page, and no footnote block appears on this image (markers ^1 in the caption and ^2 on the stub heading refer to footnotes printed elsewhere). The caption line "Table 15B.—Geographic Distribution of Collective-Bargaining Elections^1 Held in Cases Closed, Fiscal Year 2006" was omitted per instructions. Printed-source anomalies, transcribed as printed and not corrected: Alabama shows 3,145 total valid votes cast against only 3112 employees eligible to vote, and Montana shows 253 cast against 251 eligible. Idaho's 2653 eligible to vote and 2311 eligible employees in units choosing representation are large relative to its 4 elections and 631 votes cast, but the row's internal arithmetic (292 + 339 = 631) is consistent. Note the inconsistent typesetting of thousands separators in the source: columns 8 ("Number of employees eligible to vote") and 15 ("Eligible employees in units choosing representation") print four- and five-digit figures without commas (e.g. 7676, 22882, 16926, 12402), while the other numeric columns use commas. Both styles are reproduced exactly as printed. Division subtotal rows were verified column by column against their member states and all fifteen columns reconcile in every division (East North Central, East South Central, Island Areas, Middle Atlantic).

The caption carries a footnote marker (Held in Cases Closed... elections^1) and the stub heading carries ^2, but no footnote texts are printed on this crop, so `footnotes` is empty; they presumably appear on the page where the table begins or ends. This is a continuation page. The first body row, "Mountain", is a division subtotal carried over from the previous page (it is indented like the "New England" and "Pacific" subtotal rows and is set off by a rule), not a state row. Likewise, the New England subtotal (94 elections) exceeds the sum of the five New England states printed here (63), because Connecticut falls on the previous page. The crop is cut off at the bottom after "Virginia": the South Atlantic division subtotal and all later divisions/states are not visible on this image. Typography note, not an error: the "Number of employees eligible to vote" column and the "Eligible employees in units choosing representation" column are printed without digit-grouping commas (e.g. 5962, 16649, 23988, 9565, 14388), while the other numeric columns use commas. Transcribed as printed. The last column's heading is printed with an end-of-line break inside the final word ("rep- resentati on"); joined to "Eligible employees in units choosing representation". Arithmetic cross-checks all reconcile, which supports the column assignments: for every row, AFL-CIO + Other national + Other local = Total elections won; Total won + no-representative-chosen = Total elections; AFL-CIO votes + Other national votes + Other local votes = Total valid votes for unions; and union total + no-union total = Total valid votes cast. The Pacific subtotal equals the sum of its eleven member rows in all 14 numeric columns. No misprints detected.

The page is a continuation ("—Continued"), so the body begins mid-table: West Virginia is the last State of the South Atlantic division, whose subtotal row ("South Atlantic") follows it; the earlier divisions are on the preceding page(s). Division subtotal rows ("South Atlantic", "West North Central", "West South Central") are indented in the original and set off by rules; they are transcribed as ordinary rows. Suspected misprint: West Virginia shows 669 in "Number of employees eligible to vote" but 696 in "Total valid votes cast", i.e. more votes cast than employees eligible. The digits are clear on the scan and are transcribed as printed; a transposition of 969 to 669 is the likely source, but nothing on this crop confirms it (West Virginia's division subtotal, South Atlantic, also covers States printed on the previous page, so it cannot be used to check). Arithmetic checks that could be made on this crop all pass: both division subtotals (West North Central, West South Central) equal the sum of their member States in all 14 numeric columns; in every row the union/no-union splits reconcile (won + none = total elections; AFL-CIO + other national + other local = union subtotal; union votes + no-union votes = total valid votes cast), including the grand total row. The last column's heading is printed broken across lines as "Eligible employ- ees in units choos- ing rep- resentati on"; the end-of-line hyphens and the final split of "representation" have been repaired. Footnote marker 2 on the stub heading and marker 1 on "Elections" in the caption are as printed (the caption itself is omitted per instructions). In the "Number of employees eligible to vote" and "Eligible employees in units choosing representation" columns the typesetter omitted digit-grouping commas throughout (e.g. 17736, 125028, 8459, 67146); other numeric columns carry them. This is reproduced as printed, not normalized.
