Reader’s notes

p. 152. 15 columns: stub + 5 under "Number of polls" + 5 under "Employees involved (number eligible to vote)" + 4 under "Valid votes cast". Four heading levels; tall single headings ("Total", "Total eligible", "Percent of total eligible" in the Valid votes cast group, and the stub heading) are repeated down the levels they span. Heading wrapping: the "Employees involved" group's first column head is set as "Total eligib / le" (word broken without a hyphen); transcribed as "Total eligible". The stub rows are followed by long leader-dot runs that spill onto extra lines ("Total" has a second line of dots, "AFL-CIO unions", "Other national unions", "Other local unions" likewise); the dots are dropped and each label is given as one row. In the stub, "Other national unions" and "Other local unions" are printed with the qualifier flush right on the first line ("Other national" / "unions...") — joined in reading order. All printed component figures sum to the printed Total row in every column, and the printed percentages agree with the printed counts; nothing appears misprinted. No part of the table appears cut off by the crop.
