Geographic Distribution of Cases Received, Fiscal Year 2005

p. 122. 17 columns: stub, "All cases", eight unfair-labor-practice columns (All C cases, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), four representation columns (All R cases, RC, RM, RD), and three single columns (UD, AC, UC). The last three headings are tall blocks spanning the first two heading levels, with the code letters (UD, AC, UC) on the third level, so those headings are repeated across levels 1-2; likewise the stub heading and "All cases" span all three levels. The division subtotal rows (East North Central, East South Central, Middle Atlantic, Mountain) are printed indented and set off by rules; they are transcribed with their own labels in reading order. The crop ends after "Connecticut", which is the first state of the next (New England) division; that division's remaining states and subtotal, and the rest of the table, continue on the following page. All digits are clearly legible and every printed row is internally consistent (component columns sum to "All C cases"/"All R cases" and to "All cases", and each state block sums to its division line), so no suspected misprints. Note the typesetting inconsistency, transcribed as printed: some values in the "All C cases" and "All R cases" columns are printed without a thousands comma (e.g. Illinois 1493, East North Central 5690, New York 1241, Middle Atlantic 1764) while other columns use commas.

The header has three printed levels; "Division and State^2" and "All cases" are tall headings spanning all three, "Unfair labor practice cases" spans the eight columns All C cases through CP, "Representation cases" spans All R cases through RD, and "Union deauthorization cases"/"Amendment of certification cases"/"Unit clarification cases" span the top two levels with UD/AC/UC printed on the third. This page continues Table 6A from the preceding page and is cut off at the bottom: the New England block opens mid-division (Connecticut, which precedes Maine alphabetically, is not on this crop), which is why the New England line (1,502 all cases; 1272 C cases) exceeds the sum of the five states shown here by exactly the amount of one missing state. The final South Atlantic block also runs past the bottom of the crop — Georgia is the last row printed, with no divisional subtotal shown. Digit-grouping commas are inconsistent in the source, not a transcription slip: the "All C cases" column prints 1272, 2964 and 4166 with no comma, while the adjacent "All cases" and "CA" columns print 1,502 / 3,422 / 4,997 and 2,146 / 3,060 with commas. Transcribed exactly as printed. Arithmetic checks: every state row is internally consistent (C components sum to All C cases; All C + All R + UD + AC + UC = All cases), and the Outlying Areas and Pacific subtotals reconcile exactly with their listed states in all 16 numeric columns. No misprints detected. All cells are legible; no doubtful digits.

The caption carries a footnote marker (1) and the stub heading a marker (2), but no footnote text is printed on this crop — the footnote block presumably sits on the page from which this crop was taken but below the cropped area, so `footnotes` is empty. This crop is a continuation page ("—Continued") and contains only part of the table: the last five South Atlantic states plus the South Atlantic subtotal, then the West North Central and West South Central blocks, then the grand total. The East South Central and East North Central/Mountain/Pacific blocks are not on this image. Two blank vertical gaps appear in the body and contain no printed rows: one between the "South Atlantic" subtotal and "Iowa" (closed by a double rule, i.e. the end of a printed block), and a smaller one between "Iowa" and "Kansas". I transcribed no rows for either gap. The seven West North Central states printed here (Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota) are the complete division, so nothing appears to be missing at the Iowa/Kansas gap. Note the inconsistent typesetting of thousands separators, transcribed exactly as printed: the "All C cases" column prints "2664", "1159", "1530" and "24724" without commas while the adjacent "All cases" and "CA" columns use commas ("3,088", "2,088"); likewise "All R cases" prints "4850" without a comma next to "3,994" in RC. All printed figures are internally consistent: in every row the CA–CP entries sum to All C, RC+RM+RD sum to All R, and All C + All R + UD + AC + UC sum to All cases; the three subtotal rows and the grand total also reconcile. No suspected misprints.
