Reader’s notes

p. 105. Seven columns: stub, Total, and five columns under the spanner "Identification of filing party". The stub column carries no printed heading; "Total" is a tall heading spanning both heading levels, so it is repeated in each. The seven centred section lines ("CA cases", "CB Cases", ... "CP Cases") are label-only rows spanning the table body; their value cells are empty. Note that the first is printed "CA cases" with a lowercase "c" while the other six use "Cases"; transcribed as printed. In the CA block, "Pending October 1, 2004" the Total cell is printed "*14,192". The asterisk is taken as a footnote marker and moved behind a caret ("14,192^*"), but no starred footnote is printed under the table — only footnote 1 (which is keyed to the caption). The value 14,192 equals the sum of its five component columns, confirming the asterisk is not a digit. All 35 data rows cross-foot exactly: in every row the Total equals the sum of the five filing-party columns. No misprints or illegible cells observed; the image is clean and fully contained in the crop.
