  1. 1 Sec. 8(a)(3) of the Act requires that to revoke a union-shop agreement a majority of the employees eligible to vote must vote in favor of deauthorization.

32 of 32 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 232. 15 columns. The stub heading "Affiliation of union holding union-shop contract" spans all four printed heading levels, as do the tall single headings "Total" (col 1), "Total eligible" (col 6), "Total" (col 11) and "Percent of total eligible" (col 12); "Number" and "Percent of total eligible" under "Cast for deauthorization" (cols 13-14) span the bottom two levels. The only footnote marker on the page (superscript 1) is attached to the caption, which is excluded per instructions. The image is clean and all cells are legible; the three affiliation rows sum exactly to the Total row in every count column, so no misprint is suspected. Note the en dash in "AFL–CIO unions".
