Reader’s notes

p. 199. Seven printed columns: stub, Total, and five columns under the spanner "Identification of filing party". "Total" is a tall heading occupying both heading levels and is repeated in each; the stub heading is blank. The CA "Pending October 1, 2003" Total cell is printed as "*17,576" with the asterisk ahead of the number; I read the asterisk as a footnote marker and wrote it as 17,576^*. The five component figures on that row (12,620 + 586 + 615 + 3,690 + 65) sum to 17,576, which supports treating the asterisk as a marker rather than part of the value. Footnote text is cut off by the crop: only the top of a superscript "1" is visible along the bottom edge below the last rule, so no footnote lines could be read. The table caption carries a marker 1 and the CA pending figure carries "*", so at least two footnotes exist on the page below this crop. The seven lines "CA Cases", "CB Cases", "CC Cases", "CD Cases", "CE Cases", "CG Cases", "CP Cases" are centred section headings spanning the data columns; they are transcribed as label-only rows. Blank vertical gaps between sections are white space, not printed rows. In the CA section, "Other local Unions" reads 615 for both "Pending October 1, 2003" and "Received fiscal 2004"; this is as printed and is confirmed by the On-docket figure of 1,230. All row and column sums in every section agree with the printed totals, so no misprints were detected.
