No footnote texts are visible on the crop even though markers 1 (caption), 2 (stub heading "Division and State") and 3 (heading "Total elections") are printed; the footnote block falls below the crop. The three division subtotal lines shown (East North Central, East South Central, Middle Atlantic) each add up exactly to their member states in every column, so column alignment is well supported. One printed oddity, transcribed as printed: Utah's "Total valid votes cast" (185) exceeds its "Number of employees eligible to vote" (157); every other row has valid votes cast at or below eligible employees, so this looks like a misprint in the source. All cells were legible; no doubtful digits.

p. 179. This is a continuation page: the table begins on an earlier page, and the first body row (Wyoming) is the tail of the Mountain division, whose subtotal row follows it. No footnote text is printed on this crop, although footnote markers 1 (caption), 2 (stub heading "Division and State") and 3 (heading "Total elections") are present; the footnote definitions must be on another page. The last column heading is broken across lines as "Eligible employ-ees in units choos-ing rep-resentati on" and has been joined to "Eligible employees in units choosing representation". The indented rows Mountain, New England, Outlying Areas and Pacific are division subtotals, printed with the same column structure as the state rows. All four subtotal rows and the component columns were checked against their parts and are internally consistent as printed (the Mountain subtotal could not be fully checked because its earlier states are on the preceding page). The rows for American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, Marshall Islands, Northern Mariana Islands and Palau print a zero in every column. Image quality is good and no cell was doubtful.

Division subtotal rows (South Atlantic, West North Central, West South Central) are indented under their member States and are set off by rules; they are transcribed as ordinary rows in reading order. The last heading column is printed broken across lines as "Eligible employ- ees in units choos- ing rep- resentati on"; the end-of-line hyphens have been repaired to "Eligible employees in units choosing representation". The final line break falls inside "representation" without a hyphen ("resentati / on"), rejoined without one. Possible printing anomaly, transcribed as printed: for South Carolina the "Total valid votes cast" (430) exceeds the "Number of employees eligible to vote" (424). Nothing was computed, corrected or normalized.
