  1. 1 See Table 8 for summary of disposition by stage. See Glossary of terms for definitions.
  2. 2 CD cases closed in this stage are processed as jurisdictional disputes under Sec. 10(k) of the Act. See Table 7A.

163 of 163 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 155. 18 columns: stub plus "All C cases" (Number, Percent of total closed, Percent of total method) and seven two-column panels (CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), each Number and Percent of total closed. Crop/continuation: the table is cut off at the bottom — the body ends at the "Withdrawal" line, whose indented breakdown (and the rows for dismissal, etc.) continues on the following page. No footnote texts appear on this crop, although footnote markers are printed (a raised 1 on the caption, which is excluded, and a raised 2 on the "CD cases" heading, which is kept as "CD cases^2"). "Total number of cases closed", column "All C cases / Percent of total method": the cell holds only a short double dash rule ("--", not applicable), transcribed as "". Indentation (which marks the hierarchy, e.g. "Stipulated decision" and "Consent decree" appearing twice, once under "Before opening of hearing" and once under "After hearing opened") is not representable in the grid; row order preserves it. No illegible cells; all digits were clearly printed.

p. 156. 18 columns: the stub, three columns for "All C cases" (Number, Percent of total closed, Percent of total method), then two columns (Number, Percent of total closed) for each of CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP cases. This is a "—Continued" page. The first five rows (Before issuance of complaint ... After Board or court decision) are indented sub-rows of a section heading (a settlement/agreement category) that is printed on the previous page and is not visible in this crop; the crop begins mid-section. Likewise rows 7-15 are the indented sub-rows of the "Dismissal" total row, and rows 12-13 ("Adopting administrative law judge's decision (no exceptions filed)" and "Contested") are a further indent level under "By Board decision". Indentation is not preserved in the grid. In the "All C cases / Percent of total method" column, the last two rows ("10(k) actions" and "Otherwise (compliance ...)") print a short double-hyphen dash "--" rather than a number; those cells are transcribed as "" per the dash-rule convention. Apostrophes in "administrative law judge's" are typographic in most rows; in the row "After administrative law judge's decision, before Board decision" the printed apostrophe appears to be a straight quote, transcribed as such. All values are transcribed as printed; nothing was computed or corrected. No arithmetic problems were noticed, though the component rows under "Dismissal" (8,927 + 95 + 0 + 5 + 75 = 9,102) do not sum to the printed "Dismissal" total of 9,109 in the All C cases Number column — the difference corresponds to the 7 cases shown in "By circuit court of appeals decree", which is printed as a separate indented line rather than under "By Board decision".
