  1. 1 See Glossary of terms for definitions.
  2. 2 The States are grouped according to the 10 Standard Federal Administrative Regions.

747 of 747 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 153. The crop cuts the table off after the "Louisiana" row: the Region VI block (Arkansas and Louisiana are its first two states) is incomplete and the remaining regions, the grand total and any footnote texts fall below the image. Footnote markers appear on the caption ("Fiscal Year 2003^1") and on the stub heading ("Standard Federal Regions^2"), but the footnote texts themselves are not printed within the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. The three heading levels are: the spanner row ("Unfair labor practice cases" over the eight C columns, "Representation cases" over the four R columns), the column-symbol row, and a third band carrying only UD, AC and UC under the three tall right-hand headings; "Standard Federal Regions^2", "All cases" and the three tall right-hand headings are repeated down the levels they span. "District Of Columbia" is transcribed with the capital "Of" as printed. All rows and columns were checked arithmetically (state rows cross-foot to "All C cases" and "All cases", and each state block sums to its Region line); every check agrees with the printed figures, so no misprints are suspected.

p. 154. 17 columns: stub, All cases, eight ULP columns (All C cases, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), four representation columns (All R cases, RC, RM, RD), then UD, AC, UC. The UD/AC/UC spanner headings ("Union deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases") sit above a rule, with the two-letter codes on the lowest heading line; the other headings span the full header depth and are repeated down the levels. In the Total row, the "All R cases" cell is printed as "4639" with no digit-grouping comma, unlike every other four-digit figure in the table; transcribed as printed. This crop continues the table from the preceding page, so the "Region VI" subtotal row exceeds the sum of the three Region VI states shown here (New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas) — Arkansas and Louisiana appear on the previous page. All other region subtotals (VII, VIII, IX, X) reconcile exactly with the state rows printed above them, which supports the column assignments. The crop's caption ("Table 6B.-Standard Federal Administrative Regional Distribution of Cases Received, Fiscal Year 2003^1—Continued") was omitted as instructed. No cells were illegible.
