Arithmetic warning: in several rows the AC and UC figures do not sum to the "Cases in which formal actions taken" figure — Hearings completed (55 vs 0+40=40), By Regional Directors (80 vs 3+61=64), Requests for review received (25 vs 0+19=19), Board action on requests ruled upon, total (39 vs 1+30=31), Granted (8 vs 0+7=7), Denied (29 vs 1+21=22). Other rows (By Board, Remanded, Board decision after review, Affirmed, and the all-zero rows) do add. All values are transcribed exactly as printed; the shortfalls could indicate either a misprint in the source or a further type-of-case column (e.g. a combined AC/UC column) lying outside the crop. Against the latter: the spanner heading "Formal actions taken by type of case^2" is visually centred over just the AC and UC columns, and the UC values are right-aligned in the same style as the AC values, so the crop appears to show the full column set. Footnote 2, referenced by the spanner heading, is not printed within the crop — only footnote 1 is visible; footnote 2 and the closing table rule fall below the bottom edge. Digits themselves are crisp and unambiguous throughout; no doubtful cells.
