Reader’s notes

p. 133. Seven printed columns: stub, Total, and five columns under the spanner "Identification of filing party" (AFL-CIO Unions, Other National Unions, Other local Unions, Individuals, Employers). The stub column has no printed heading; "Total" is a tall heading spanning both heading levels, so it is repeated in each. The Total cell of the CA section's "Pending October 1, 2002" row carries a raised asterisk printed to the LEFT of the number (*19,749); I transcribed it as a marker, 19,749^*. No asterisk footnote is printed under the table — only footnote 1 appears — so the asterisk's note is either on another page or omitted. Reading it as a marker rather than a digit is supported arithmetically: 14,278+684+684+4,033+70 = 19,749 exactly. The seven section lines are centered band headings spanning the full table width; I placed each label in the stub with the remaining cells empty. Capitalisation is as printed: the first reads "CA cases" (lowercase c) while the other six read "CB Cases" ... "CP Cases". All 35 data rows cross-foot exactly (five filing-party columns sum to Total), and within each section On docket = Pending Oct 1 + Received and Pending Sept 30 = On docket - Closed. No misprints detected. No part of the table appears cut off; the footnote line is the last printed element above the crop edge.
