Reader’s notes

p. 37. Two printed columns: object-class label (stub) and dollar amount. No column headings are printed over this list, so header_rows is empty. The crop also contains non-table matter that is excluded from the grid: the tail of a sentence from the preceding section at the very top ("...(3) and (1) by discharging the strikers."), the section heading "D. Financial Statement" (the table's caption), and the lead-in sentence "The obligations and expenditures of the National Labor Relations Board for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2003, are as follows:". That narrative text is clipped at the left edge of the crop ("The" reads as "he", "Board" as "rd"), but every row label and every amount in the list itself is fully within the crop and legible. A blank line separates "Insurance claims and indemnities" from the "Total obligations" line; no rule is printed. The printed items sum exactly to the printed total of $237,231,256, which supports the digit reading. Dollar signs appear only on the first item and on the total, as printed.
