p. 132. The crop is cut off at the bottom: Utah is the last fully printed row, and the Mountain division subtotal plus the remaining divisions/states continue on the following page. No footnote texts are printed within this crop, although footnote markers 1 (caption), 2 ("Division and State") and 3 ("Total elections") appear; the footnote block must be on a later page. Possible misprint, Utah row: "Number of employees eligible to vote" is 238 while "Total valid votes cast" is 300, i.e. more valid votes than eligible voters. The 300 is internally consistent (186 union + 114 no union = 300), so the 238 looks like the suspect figure. Transcribed as printed. The three divisional subtotal rows (East North Central, East South Central, Middle Atlantic) are indented in the stub but carry no separate section label; their leading indentation has not been preserved in the labels. All other printed cross-footings in the image check out exactly. Column headings that are tall single headings spanning both heading levels ("Division and State", "Total elections", "Number of elections in which no representative was chosen", "Number of employees eligible to vote", "Total valid votes cast", "Total votes for no union", "Eligible employees in units choosing representation") have been repeated in both header rows. The last heading is printed hyphenated across lines as "Eligible employ-ees in units choos-ing rep-resentati on" and has been rejoined as "Eligible employees in units choosing representation".

This is a continuation page ("—Continued" in the caption); no footnote texts are printed under the table on this crop, although markers 2 and 3 appear in the stub and first column headings (and marker 1 in the excluded caption). The crop begins mid-table: Wyoming is the last state of the Mountain division, whose other states are on the preceding page, so the Mountain subtotal cannot be checked against the rows shown here. The table ends at the Pacific subtotal; whether further rows (e.g. a grand total) follow is not visible. Indented rows (Mountain, New England, Outlying Areas, Pacific) are division subtotals, set off by rules. The last column heading is printed broken as "Eligible employ-ees in units choos-ing rep-resentati on" and has been joined as "Eligible employees in units choosing representation". Digit-grouping commas are printed only on five-digit values, which is why e.g. California shows "10,079" but "7933" and "7666"; this follows the original. Row sums for New England, Outlying Areas and Pacific were checked against their member rows and agree in every column.

p. 134. The crop is a continuation page (caption ends "—Continued"), so the body begins mid-table with the South Atlantic division; earlier divisions appear on the preceding page. Column headings are printed on this page and are transcribed. All 15 columns are printed as one panel; no side-by-side panels. Arithmetic checks: every division subtotal row (South Atlantic, West North Central, West South Central) sums exactly from the state rows above it in all 14 numeric columns, and the component columns (AFL-CIO + other national + other local) sum to the "Total" columns in every state row. This supports the column assignments. Apparent printed anomaly, transcribed as printed: Louisiana shows "Total valid votes cast" = 1875 greater than "Number of employees eligible to vote" = 1690. The West South Central subtotal (9715 vs 10513) is consistent with the printed 1875, so the discrepancy is in the source, not the reading. The source is inconsistent about digit-grouping commas: e.g. "17303" and "14,538" in the same South Atlantic row, "14271" vs "12,561", and in the final total row "81340" without a comma while neighboring values use commas. Transcribed exactly as printed. The last row's "Other national unions" (4000) and "Other local unions" (5800) under valid votes cast for unions appear rounded relative to the unrounded neighbors; transcribed as printed, with no correction.
