148 of 148 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 129. Seven columns: stub, Total, and the five columns under the spanner \"Identification of filing party\". The stub column carries no printed heading; \"Total\" spans both heading levels. The six centred section lines (\"All Cases\", \"Unfair labor practice cases 2\", etc.) are printed across the full width of the value columns; they are given here as label-only rows. In the \"Union-shop deauthorization cases\" block, the AFL-CIO Unions, Other national unions, Other local unions and Employers cells are each printed as a short dash rule (\"--\", meaning not applicable); per the dash-rule convention they are transcribed as empty cells. \"Pending October 1, 1999\" in the All Cases block is printed as \"*27,412\" with a raised asterisk before the figure; it is transcribed as 27,412^* on the reading that the asterisk is a footnote marker (the 27,412 is internally consistent: it equals the sum of the five filing-party columns and of the five case-type blocks). Footnote markers 2 and 3 appear on the \"Unfair labor practice cases\" and \"Representation cases\" section lines, and an asterisk marker appears on 27,412, but only footnote 1 is fully legible: a second footnote line (beginning \"2 See Table 1… for total breakout of…\") is clipped by the bottom edge of the crop and the footnotes for 3 and * are not visible at all, so they are omitted. All printed totals check out: every row's five filing-party cells sum to its Total, each block satisfies pending + received = on docket and on docket − closed = closing pending, and the five case-type blocks sum to the All Cases block, column by column. No apparent misprints.
