744 of 744 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 151. The crop is the first page of the table and ends mid-table: the last printed row is Maryland, and the South Atlantic division block (Delaware, Maryland, and the states after it) is cut off, with no division subtotal shown for it. No footnote texts appear on this crop, although footnote markers are printed (a raised 1 on the caption, which is excluded, and a raised 2 on the stub heading "Division and State"); their texts presumably appear on the continuation page. The table has 17 columns: stub, "All cases", eight unfair-labor-practice columns (All C cases, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), four representation columns (All R cases, RC, RM, RD), and three single columns UD, AC, UC. The division subtotal rows (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) are indented under their states and are transcribed in the stub column like other rows. Scan quality: the page is a 1-bit scan with light speckling. Two cells carry stray specks that I read as the digit alone: Missouri UD = 6 (a small mark sits just left of the 6) and Delaware CC = 0 (a speck precedes the 0). A stray dot also follows the "Maine" label and sits near "Iowa", "Minnesota" and "Illinois"; these are page speckles, not leader dots or markers. No digit was ambiguous. Arithmetic check (not used to alter any cell): every row's CA+CB+CC+CD+CE+CG+CP equals its "All C cases", RC+RM+RD equals "All R cases", and All C + All R + UD + AC + UC equals "All cases"; each division subtotal equals the sum of its listed states in every column. All checks are consistent with the figures as transcribed, so no misprint is suspected.

p. 152. Continuation page of Table 6A; the caption carries footnote marker 1 and the stub heading carries marker 2, but no footnote texts are printed on this crop (they appear on another page), so `footnotes` is empty. The page is a mid-table continuation: the South Atlantic division begins on the preceding page, so the "South Atlantic" total row is larger than the sum of the seven state rows shown here (All cases 3,589 vs. 2,044+... = 3,044 from the visible rows). The residual is consistent across every column (All cases +545 = All C +407, All R +132, UD +3, UC +3), i.e. exactly two missing states (Delaware and Maryland); this is not a misprint. The East South Central, West South Central and Mountain totals are complete and all cross-foot exactly, as do all individual state rows. Column-rule layout: 17 columns. "All cases", and the three right-hand headings (Union deauthorization / Amendment of certification / Unit clarification cases), are tall headings spanning multiple header levels, so they are repeated down the levels they span; the UD / AC / UC abbreviations occupy the third level only. Doubtful/minor marks: in the "Mountain" row, a small stray speck is printed just left of the CG value; the value itself reads 0 and is confirmed by the column sum (all Mountain states have CG = 0). Faint stray specks also sit in the stub area of the Kentucky, Louisiana and "West South Central" rows (scanner dirt, not text). Several digits are printed with a broken "1" glyph typical of this scan (e.g. Georgia RM 1, Florida RM 0 / RD 15), but all were confirmed against the row and column totals.

p. 153. The crop is a continuation page: only the tail of the table is present (the Pacific division's States, the outlying areas, and the grand total); the earlier divisions appear on preceding pages. Column headings are printed on this page, so they are transcribed. The three rightmost heading stacks ("Union deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases") span the first two heading levels, with their code abbreviations (UD, AC, UC) printed on the third level; "Division and State" and "All cases" span all three levels. Minor scan artifacts, none affecting values: a stray comma-like speck sits in the CG heading cell just below "CG"; a stray dot appears in the stub area left of the margin on the first heading line and beside the "Pacific" row label; the footnote text prints "U S Department" without periods after the initials, transcribed as seen. Footnote 1 is attached to the year in the caption, which is not transcribed. All printed row and column totals are internally consistent (e.g., Pacific = 5,940 across the six States; 30,421 = 23,622+5,926+503+166+58+25+121; 36,637 = 30,421+5,829+102+12+273), so no misprints are suspected. An empty ruled strip below the total row contains no data.
