636 of 636 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 149. Crop is the first page of a two-page table: it ends after the "Construction" subtotal line (a heavy rule follows), so the remaining industry groups and the table's footnotes (markers ^1 on the caption and ^2 on "Industrial groups" are printed, but no footnote text appears on this image) continue on the following page; `footnotes` is therefore empty. Column structure: 17 columns — stub, "All cases", eight C-case columns (All C cases, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), four R-case columns (All R cases, RC, RM, RD), then UD, AC, UC. The CG column is 0 in every printed row. The three rightmost headings ("Union deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases") are tall headings spanning the first two heading levels, with their code abbreviations UD/AC/UC on the third level; "Industrial groups^2" and "All cases" span all three levels. Row label "Mining and quarrying of nonmetallic minerals (except fules)" is transcribed as printed; "fules" is an apparent misprint for "fuels". In the "Printing, publishing, and allied products" row the RD value is printed as 33 with a small stray ink mark to its upper right; it is scanner noise, not a footnote marker — 50 + 5 + 33 = 88 = All R cases, confirming 33. Scan is a 1-bit scan with light speckling (stray dots appear in the stub beside several rows, e.g. "Textile mill products", "Furniture and fixtures", "Measuring, analyzing...", and "Construction"); these were not transcribed. Every row and every column total in the grid was arithmetically consistent (C columns sum to All C cases, R columns to All R cases, and the five components to All cases; the Manufacturing and Mining subtotals equal the sum of their member rows), so no misprints or misplaced digits were detected.

p. 150. 17 columns: stub, "All cases", eight unfair-labor-practice columns, four representation columns, and the UD/AC/UC columns. The three rightmost headings ("Union deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases") are tall boxes spanning the first two heading levels, with UD/AC/UC printed on the third level; they are repeated across those levels here. "All cases", "All C cases" and "All R cases" are likewise tall headings repeated down the levels. This is a continuation page: the first four rows (Wholesale trade through U.S. Postal Service) are the tail of a group whose heading and other members are on the preceding page, and no subtotal for them appears on this crop. "Transportation, communication, and other utilities", "Services" and "Public administration" are indented group-total lines set off by heavy rules. "Amusement and recreation services (exception motion pictures)" is transcribed as printed; "exception" is almost certainly a misprint for "except". The CC value for "Motion pictures" is printed as a 1 preceded by a stray ink dot; transcribed as 1. The CC entry for "Wholesale trade" in the heading area has a stray dot above it (printer noise), not a footnote marker. Every row and every column adds internally (All cases = All C + All R + UD + AC + UC; All C = CA..CP; All R = RC + RM + RD), and the three subtotal lines and the grand total all reconcile with their component rows, so no printed figure appears to be in error.
