p. 149. The crop cuts the table off mid-panel-B: the last transcribed row ("AFL-CIO v. National") is the bottom line visible, and the remainder of section B plus the text of footnote 1 (its marker appears on the caption, "Fiscal Year 1997^1") are not on this image, so `footnotes` is empty. Column structure: 12 printed columns. The stub heading "Participating unions" and the column-2 heading "Total valid votes cast" are tall headings spanning all three heading levels; "Total votes for no union" (columns 7 and 12) spans the second and third levels. Hyphen-broken headings were repaired ("AFL-CIO unions", "Other national unions"). Em-dash rules ("——") used for "not applicable" cells are transcribed as "". Printed zeros are kept as 0. Doubtful cells: in the "National v. Local" row (section A), the "Valid votes cast in elections lost / Votes for unions / Other national unions" cell is printed as "52" with a small stray ink speck immediately before the 5; I read it as 52, which is consistent with the "2-union elections" subtotal of 52 in that column. The adjacent "Total votes for no union" (elections won) cell in the same row reads "19" and is slightly blotted but confirmed by the row arithmetic (480+19+98+131 = 728). No arithmetic was corrected; all printed row and column totals that I checked (sections A and B) are internally consistent as printed.

Twelve columns: stub, "Total valid votes cast", then five columns under "Valid votes cast in elections won" (Votes for unions: Total / AFL-CIO unions / Other national unions / Other local unions, plus "Total votes for no union") and the same five under "Valid votes cast in elections lost". This page continues Table 14 from the preceding page, so the opening rows carry on a section begun earlier (the "2-union elections" subtotal of 12,417 covers rows printed on the previous page as well as the three shown here, which is why the three visible rows do not sum to it). The same applies to "Total RC elections". "C. Elections in RM cases" and "D. Elections in RD cases" are printed as centered section banners across the data columns, not in the stub; they are given as label-only rows with empty value cells. Many cells hold a printed dash rule (——) rather than a figure; these are transcribed as empty strings, while printed zeros are kept as 0. Scan specks: in the "2-union elections" row (first panel section) the elections-lost AFL-CIO figure prints as "1,460." with a trailing dot that is a speck, not a decimal point — transcribed as 1,460. In the "3 (or more)-union elections" row the elections-lost AFL-CIO "0" carries a similar stray apostrophe-like mark; read as 0. Both readings are confirmed by the row/column sums. No footnote text appears on this crop; the caption's footnote marker 1 refers to a note printed with the first page of the table. All visible row and column sums cross-check exactly, with no apparent misprints.

p. 151. The crop is a continuation page of Table 14, so the body begins mid-table with no section-heading lines; the column headings are reprinted on this page and are transcribed. Twelve columns total (stub plus 11 numeric). Dash rules ("——") appear in many cells and are transcribed as empty strings: AFL-CIO v. Local (Other national unions, won; Other national unions, lost); Local v. Local (AFL-CIO unions and Other national unions, won; AFL-CIO unions, lost); AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO (Other national and Other local unions, won; Other national and Other local unions, lost). In the Local v. Local row the "Other national unions" cell under "elections lost" reads as blank/faint rather than a clear dash rule; either way it is transcribed as "". A stray ink speck sits immediately left of 4,911 in the "Total RD elections" row ("·4,911"); it is not a footnote marker or digit and is omitted. Scattered specks also appear in the header area and in the leader-dot lines. All printed totals cross-foot correctly (e.g., 4,542+129+240=4,911; 2,491+76+186=2,753; 4,911+2,556+2,753+5,947=16,167).
