Column structure: 15 columns = stub + "Number of polls" (5: Total; Resulting in deauthorization Number/Percent of total; Resulting in continued authorization Number/Percent of total) + "Employees involved (number eligible to vote)^1" (5: Total eligible; In polls > Resulting in deauthorization Number/Percent of total, Resulting in continued authorization Number/Percent of total) + "Valid votes cast" (4: Total; Percent of total eligible; Cast for deauthorization Number/Percent of total eligible). Tall single headings ("Total", "Total eligible", "Percent of total eligible", "Cast for deauthorization") are repeated down the levels they span. Doubtful cells, both decimal points: in the Total row, "Number of polls / Resulting in deauthorization / Percent of total" is printed as "37 8" with no visible period in the scan; in the AFL-CIO unions row the same column is printed as "41 2". Both are transcribed with a decimal point (37.8, 41.2) because every other percent in the table is printed to one decimal and the arithmetic agrees (14/37 = 37.8, 14/34 = 41.2); the periods appear to have dropped out of the scan. Em-dash rules ("——") appear in the percent columns of the "Other national unions" and "Other local unions" rows (Number of polls / Resulting in deauthorization / Percent of total; Employees involved / In polls / Resulting in deauthorization / Percent of total; Valid votes cast / Cast for deauthorization / Percent of total eligible) and are transcribed as empty cells per instruction. The union-affiliation label uses an en dash in the original ("AFL–CIO unions"); written here with a hyphen. All printed totals check out against the component rows and the percentages are internally consistent; no misprints found beyond the dropped decimal points noted above.
