Reader’s notes

p. 115. Seven printed columns: stub, Total, and the five columns under the spanner "Identification of filing party". The stub column has no printed heading. "RC cases", "RM cases" and "RD cases" are section lines printed centred across the data columns (not in the stub column); they are transcribed as label-only rows with empty value cells. The asterisks in the Total column of the three "Pending October 1, 1996" rows are printed to the left of the number (*1,764, *93, *366) and are footnote markers keyed to the starred footnote; they are written after the value as ^*. Dash rules ("——") mark inapplicable cells and are transcribed as "": the Employers column in every RC and RD row, and the four union/Individuals columns in every RM row. All printed totals check against their components (e.g. 1,519+67+178+0 = 1,764; 2+0+1+862 = 863), so no arithmetic discrepancies are apparent. The scan carries stray specks and a stray backslash-like mark before the "93" in the RM Employers column; these are print artifacts, not characters. Row labels show broken type on "Pending"/"Received" ("Pendmg", "Recerved"), read as the ordinary words.
