A raised asterisk precedes the Total figure in the "Pending October 1, 1996" row of the CA, CB, CC, CD and CG sections (28,055 / 4,837 / 447 / 128 / 14); it is transcribed as a trailing ^* marker. No asterisk footnote text is printed within this crop — it presumably appears on a continuation page or elsewhere in the source, so only footnote 1 is given. Footnote 1 is attached to the caption ("Fiscal Year 1997^1"), which is excluded per instructions. The footnote line sits at the very bottom edge of the crop and is slightly clipped, but it reads clearly. In the CB section, "Pending October 1, 1996" the "Other local unions" cell prints as "38." with a stray speck after the digits; the value is 38. Several stray ink specks appear in blank areas of the page (e.g. beside 167 in CD "Received fiscal 1997", beside 441 in CC, in the Individuals column of CP "Closed fiscal 1997"); none were treated as characters. All arithmetic checks pass as printed: in every section the five filing-party columns sum to the Total, "On docket" equals pending plus received, and "Pending September 30, 1997" equals on docket minus closed. No discrepancies found.
