Reader’s notes

p. 191. Two printed columns: the stub "Stage" and a single data column "Median days"; one heading level. Row "II.A.1" is printed as "Filing of petition of notice of hearing issued" — the second "of" appears to be a misprint for "to" (compare "1. Filing of charge to issuance of complaint"); transcribed as printed. In "5. Close of post-election hearing to Board's decision issued" the period after the numeral 5 is not visible in the scan (it reads "5 Close of..."); all sibling items carry a period, so it is almost certainly a dropped dot and I supplied it. A stray handwritten/ink mark (resembling a caret or small bracket) sits above this line in the margin of the scan; it is not a footnote marker and belongs to no cell. Section labels "B. Age of cases pending administrative law judge's decision, September 30, 1995." and the two other September 30 lines show a mark after "decision" that is ambiguous between a comma and a period in this scan; I read it as a comma in each case. The trailing period after "1995" is present on the B and C lines under I and on B under II, but absent on the final "C. Age of cases pending Regional Director's decision, September 30, 1995" row, which is transcribed without it. The scan is a degraded 1-bit image in which dotted i/í accents and apostrophes render unevenly (e.g. "Unfair", "Originating", "hearing"); word spellings were read from context and are not in doubt. No footnotes are printed under the table.
