Blank spacing lines between the divisions are not rows and were not transcribed. All four division subtotals were checked against their component states and every column foots exactly as printed; no suspected misprints. No illegible or doubtful cells — the scan is clean, apart from the usual dotless-i artifact of the typeface (e.g. "Illinois", "Michigan"), which was transcribed as normal text.

Arithmetic cross-checks all pass as transcribed: each division subtotal (South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central) equals the sum of its member states in every one of the 14 numeric columns, and in every row "Total votes for no union" equals "Total valid votes cast" minus "Valid votes cast for unions: Total". No misprints detected. Two cells worth flagging for legibility, though both are confirmed by the arithmetic: Delaware "Other local unions" under valid votes cast is 1 (266 = 265 + 0 + 1), and Utah "AFL-CIO unions" under elections won is 0 with 1 in "Other local unions" (total 1).

p. 174. The crop is a continuation page: it opens with the "Mountain" division subtotal row, so the individual Mountain states appear on the preceding page. Column headings are printed on this page and are transcribed. Doubtful cell: California, "Valid votes cast for unions — Total". I read the printed figure as 6,630, but it is internally inconsistent: the row's own components (5,850 + 260 + 220) sum to 6,330, and the Pacific subtotal 11,407 in that column equals the sum of the state values only if California is 6,330 (the state totals as read sum to 11,707). The glyph in question (second digit, 3 vs 6) is not fully legible at this scan resolution; it is transcribed as read and should be verified. All other columns of the Pacific and Outlying Areas subtotals reconcile exactly with their component rows. Guam shows only 3 elections but 2,660 employees eligible to vote and 2,277 valid votes cast, with just 180 eligible employees in units choosing representation. These figures look anomalous but are confirmed by the Pacific subtotals (28,521 and 24,618), so they are transcribed as printed. The stub heading "Division and State" carries footnote marker 1; it is recorded as "Division and State^1" in both heading levels.
