Reader’s notes
p. 125. The table has 11 columns: the stub plus five case-type panels (All R, RC, RM, RD, UD), each with a "Number of cases" and a "Percent of cases closed" column; these are repeated headings of one wide table, not side-by-side panels. Doubtful cell: row "After issuance of notice, before close of hearing", column "RM cases / Percent of cases closed" is printed as "38 8" — the decimal point did not reproduce in the scan. Transcribed as 38.8 because the column's values sum to 100.0 only with that reading (51.2 + 38.8 + 1.5 + 8.5 = 100.0) and every other cell in that column carries one decimal place. Em-dash rules (no value) appear in the "Percent of cases closed" cells for the "After issuance of Board decision" row in all five panels and for the UD panel in "After hearing closed, before issuance of decision"; these are transcribed as empty cells. The corresponding "Number of cases" cells are a printed 0. The caption carries footnote marker 1, which is the footnote reproduced above; the caption itself is omitted per instructions. Row labels show scanner noise on several "i" dots (e.g. "issuance", "hearing", "decision"), but the wording is unambiguous.
