p. 108. Four columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken" (a tall heading spanning both header levels), and AC and UC under the spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case". Several rows do not add across: "Hearings completed" 70 vs AC 1 + UC 64 = 65; "Requests for review received" 50 vs 0 + 46 = 46; "Board action on requests ruled upon, total" 38 vs 0 + 34 = 34; "Denied" 29 vs 0 + 25 = 25. All are transcribed exactly as printed. The column sums are internally consistent, which supports the readings: in the first column 8 + 29 + 1 = 38 and 1 + 1 + 3 = 5, and in the UC column 8 + 25 + 1 = 34 and 1 + 1 + 3 = 5. The 64 in the UC column of "Hearings completed" has no such internal check; it is clearly printed as 64 but would be 69 if the row were meant to add to 70. The section line is printed as "Review of Regional Directors' decisions." ending in a period; the parallel line lower down ends in a colon ("Regional Directors' decisions:"), so the period may be a misprint or a broken colon. Transcribed as it appears. The scan renders many dotted i's as dotless (e.g. "Decisions issued after hearing", "initial"); these are scanning artifacts of the original typeface and have been transcribed as ordinary letters.
