250 of 252 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out. 4 cells break a sum: '200 to 299', column 3: prints 80, the subtotals in columns 6 to 12 add to 85; '40 to 49', column 3: prints 34, the subtotals in columns 6 to 12 add to 38; 'Total RD elections', column 8: prints 1, rows 'Under 10' to '800 and over' add to 5; 'Total RC and RM elections', column 8: prints 63, rows 'Under 10' to '3,000 to 9,999' add to 68.
p. 171. The crop is cut off at the bottom: the row "3,000 to 9,999" sits flush against the bottom edge, and the table almost certainly continues (a larger size class such as "10,000 or more", and the panel "B." that would follow section "A. Certification elections (RC and RM)"). Any footnotes printed under the full table are also outside this crop. Decimal points: in this scan many decimal points in the percent columns have dropped out, so cells print as e.g. "8 2", "100 0", "40 1", "0 9". Every such cell sits in a one-decimal percentage column where the surrounding values are printed with a period, so I have transcribed them with the decimal point restored (8.2, 100.0, 40.1, 0.9). Cells affected: Total RC and RM elections (AFL-CIO Number... i.e. AFL-CIO Percent by size class); 10 to 19 and 20 to 29 (Cumulative percent); 30 to 39 (Percent of total, and no-representative Percent); 40 to 49 (Percent of total, Other local Percent); 50 to 59 (Percent of total, Other local Percent); 60 to 69 (Other national Percent); 70 to 79 (Cumulative percent); 80 to 89 (AFL-CIO Percent, Other national Percent, no-representative Percent); 90 to 99 (Percent of total, AFL-CIO Percent, Other local Percent, no-representative Percent); 100 to 109 (Other local Percent, no-representative Percent); 120 to 129 (Other local Percent); 130 to 139 (Cumulative percent); 150 to 159 (Percent of total, AFL-CIO Percent, no-representative Percent); 200 to 299 (Cumulative percent, AFL-CIO Percent, Other national Percent, no-representative Percent); 300 to 399 (Cumulative percent); 400 to 499 (Cumulative percent, AFL-CIO Percent, no-representative Percent); 500 to 599 (Other local Percent); 2,000 to 2,999 (Cumulative percent, no-representative Percent); 3,000 to 9,999 (Cumulative percent, no-representative Percent). Row label "1000 to 1,999" is transcribed as it appears: the thousands comma in the first number does not show in the scan, although the neighbouring labels "2,000 to 2,999" and "3,000 to 9,999" do have it — this is likely a dropped comma rather than a real difference in setting. Em-dash rules ("——") are transcribed as empty cells: the Cumulative percent cell of the "Total RC and RM elections" row, and the Percent-by-size-class cells that accompany a printed 0 (Other national unions in rows 120 to 129, 130 to 139, 160 to 169, 170 to 179, 180 to 189, 500 to 599, 600 to 799, 800 to 999, 1000 to 1,999, 2,000 to 2,999, 3,000 to 9,999; Other local unions in rows 150 to 159, 160 to 169, 180 to 189, 190 to 199, 300 to 399, 400 to 499, 600 to 799, 800 to 999, 2,000 to 2,999, 3,000 to 9,999; AFL-CIO unions in row 2,000 to 2,999). Suspected misprint, transcribed as printed: in row "200 to 299" the Other national unions columns read 6 and 1.6; with a column total of 63 other-national wins, 6 of 63 is 9.5 percent, so 1.6 looks like a typesetting error for 9.5 (the other size classes with 1 win each are given 1.6). Not corrected. The "Elections in which no representative was chosen / Number" heading has a stray ink dot beneath it in the scan; it is an artifact, not a footnote marker. Section line "A. Certification elections (RC and RM)" is printed centred across the data columns rather than in the stub; I placed its text in the stub cell with the remaining cells empty, per the section-line convention.
p. 172. This is a continuation page carrying only panel B of Table 17; panel A (collective bargaining elections) is on the preceding page. The column headings are reprinted here, so they are transcribed. SUSPECTED MISPRINT: in row "40 to 49", column "Other national unions — Number", the printed glyph reads 4. It is transcribed as printed, but it is almost certainly an error for 0: (a) the adjacent "Other national unions — Percent by size class" cell for that row is a dash rule, not a percentage; (b) the column total on the "Total RD elections" line is 1, and the only row carrying a percent in that column is "90 to 99" (1, 100.0); (c) every other row in the column prints 0. Every other column in the table foots exactly to its printed total (Number eligible to vote 24,485; Total elections 531; AFL-CIO Number 158; Other local Number 6; No representative Number 366), so this single cell is the only arithmetic break on the page. Faint decimal points: the scan drops the period in several cells, printing e.g. "100 0", "46 0", "27 0", "13 1". These are transcribed with the decimal point restored (100.0, 46.0, 27.0, 13.1), consistent with the surrounding values and the cumulative-percent chain, which runs 21.3 → 46.0 → 60.3 → ... → 100.0 without a break. Affected cells: "Total RD elections" (Other national — Percent, and No representative — Percent); "Under 10" (No representative — Percent); "10 to 19" (Cumulative percent); "20 to 29" (No representative — Percent). The section line is printed as "B" followed by a gap and then "Decertification elections (RD)". The character after the B is degraded; it is transcribed as a period, the conventional form for these panel headings, but a bare "B" cannot be ruled out. The "Other local unions" sub-heading reads "Percent of size class" ("of", not "by"), unlike the matching sub-headings under "AFL-CIO unions" and "Other national unions"; transcribed as printed. "Percent of total" for "200 to 299" is printed 2.7, though 15/531 = 2.8; the printed cumulative value 98.8 is consistent with 2.7, so it is left as printed. Cells holding only a dash rule ("——") are rendered as empty strings, as are the leader-dot runs after row labels. The footnote line at the foot of the crop is partly clipped by the bottom edge but is legible. Stray specks appear in the heading area (near the stub rule, under "Other local unions", and beside the "Percent of size class" heading); they are scan artifacts, not footnote markers.
