Doubtful cell: in the "AFL-CIO" row, column "Valid votes cast in elections lost / Votes for unions / Other national unions", the scan shows a small faint mark rather than the clean em-dash rule used elsewhere in that column. It is almost certainly a broken/degraded dash rule (the row's elections-lost total of 36,258 equals its AFL-CIO figure of 36,258, leaving nothing for other national unions), so the cell is transcribed as empty. Column structure: 11 numeric columns — "Total valid votes cast", then five columns each under "Valid votes cast in elections won" and "Valid votes cast in elections lost" (Total / AFL-CIO unions / Other national unions / Other local unions under "Votes for unions", plus "Total votes for no union"). The section line \"D. Elections in RD cases\" is printed centered across the eleven value columns rather than in the stub; it is given here as a label-only row with empty value cells. Long dash rules (\"——\") in the AFL-CIO, Other national unions, Other local unions and AFL-CIO v. AFL-CIO rows are transcribed as empty cells, per instruction. In the \"Total RM elections\" row the \"Other national unions\" cell under \"elections lost\" is printed with a stray comma-like mark before the digits (\",17\"); the value is read as 17, which is consistent with the printed lost-votes total 209 = 172 + 17 + 20. All other printed totals cross-foot correctly (e.g. 2,482 = 1,575 + 147 + 209 + 551; 21,548 = 21,283 + 265).
