Reader’s notes
p. 136. Four columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken", and the two "Formal actions taken by type of case" columns AC and UC. Internal inconsistencies, transcribed as printed: in the row "Board action on requests ruled upon, total" the total column reads 29 but AC (0) + UC (28) = 28; the component rows below it (Granted 5, Denied 21, Remanded 3) sum to 29 in the total column but to 28 in UC (5 + 20 + 3). Also "Requests for review received" has 21 in the total column against AC 1 + UC 19 = 20. These are as printed, not transcription slips. The row label "Requests for review received" is printed with a stray period between the label and the leader dots; the period was dropped with the leaders. The source scan renders several letters with a dotted/broken appearance (e.g. "which", "actions", "Regional", "Directors'", "review"), but the words themselves are unambiguous.
