Reader’s notes
p. 193. 11 columns: stub plus Number/Percent for each of All R, RC, RM, RD, UD cases. The footnote marker 1 is attached to the caption (excluded), not to any cell in the grid. Dash rules ("——") printed in place of a percent are transcribed as empty cells, per instruction; they occur wherever the Number cell is 0 (and in the UD Percent column for several rows). Three percent cells have a decimal point that did not survive the scan and read as a space: "By withdrawal, total" / UD Percent (printed "34 4", transcribed 34.4); "After Regional Director's decision and direction of election" / RC Percent (printed "1 8", transcribed 1.8); "By Regional Director's decision" / All R Percent (printed "1 8", transcribed 1.8). Every other percent in the table carries one decimal, so these are read as dropped periods rather than as printed values. The row "After:" is a section line carrying a label and no values. The two "Before notice of hearing / After notice of hearing, before hearing closed / After hearing closed, before decision" triples under "Consent election" and "Stipulated election", and the similar labels under "By withdrawal, total" and "By dismissal, total", repeat verbatim in the original; they are transcribed as printed without disambiguation. The stub's leader dots are dropped. A few stray typesetting specks sit in the stub (e.g. a dot above the "Stipulated election" leaders and a mark near "By dismissal, total"); they are not footnote markers.
