The "Total" heading is a tall single heading spanning both levels and is repeated in each. The asterisk footnote marker is printed to the LEFT of the affected Total figures (*26,058, *22,852, *2,954, *66, *12, *9, *174); per the marker rule it is written after the value as ^*. The six section lines ("All cases", "Unfair labor practice cases^2", "Representation cases^3", "Union-shop deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases") are printed centered across the data columns rather than in the stub; they are recorded as label-only rows. In the Union-shop deauthorization band all cells except Total and Individuals hold a printed dash rule (——), transcribed as "". Arithmetic cross-checks: every row's six filing-party cells sum to its printed Total, every band satisfies pending + received = on docket and on docket - closed = pending Sept 30, and the five section bands sum to the "All cases" band in all five rows. No misprints detected. Minor image artifacts, none affecting the reading: a stray tick before the 0 in the Individuals column of "Amendment of certification cases / Pending October 1, 1990"; broken leader dots in several stub labels; a stray mark above the "30" in "Pending September 30, 1991" of the Union-shop band.
