Reader’s notes

p. 209. The table has no printed column headings (caption only, then a rule), so header_rows is empty; the grid is the row-label stub plus a single right-hand value column. Apparent misprint in the source: the third top-level section, "Applications for fees and expenses before the district courts", is numbered "II." — the same numeral as the preceding circuit-courts section. It should almost certainly read "III."; it is transcribed as printed. This is a heavily degraded 1-bit scan and punctuation drops out in several places. Specific judgement calls: - "Recovered" value prints as "$14,414 71" and the circuit-court award value as "$150,000 00": the decimal point is not visible in the scan. Both are transcribed with the decimal point restored ($14,414.71, $150,000.00), since a two-digit cents group after a lost period is the only sensible reading; flagging in case strict as-printed text is wanted. - Several line-ending colons image as a raised middle dot rather than a colon: "D. Amount of fees and expenses in cases ruled on by Board", "II. ... circuit courts of appeals", "A Awards ruled on" (under section II), and "II. ... district courts". All are transcribed with a colon. These are scan artifacts, not footnote markers. - The "A" of "A. Awards ruled on:" in the circuit-courts section shows no period in the scan; written with a period for consistency with the other lettered items. - The last row, "B. Amounts of fees and expenses recovered pursuant to court award", is printed with the plural "Amounts" whereas the parallel row in the circuit-courts section reads "Amount"; both kept as printed. No footnotes are printed below the closing rule.
