The crop is cut off at the bottom: the table continues past the last transcribed row ("Coal mining"), and the body of footnote 1 (marker on the stub heading "Industrial group") is not visible on this image, so `footnotes` is empty. The "Manufacturing" row is a subtotal, set off by horizontal rules above and below; the two mining rows that follow begin the next (non-manufacturing) section, whose section heading is not printed on this crop. Arithmetic check: all 16 numeric columns of the 22 manufacturing detail rows sum exactly to the printed "Manufacturing" subtotal, so the digits and column assignments are well corroborated. Scan artifacts, not footnote markers: faint stray specks/strokes sit beside several values in the first body rows — before "176", "105" and "6,657" and "5,464" (Food and kindred products), before "7" (Tobacco manufacturers), before "2,693" (Furniture and fixtures, a check-like stroke), before "0" (Furniture, Other national unions column), and before "473" and "553" (Coal mining). These are specks/ink from the facing column rules; no raised footnote markers are attached to any body value, so none were transcribed. Low-level typographic note: this scan renders many "i" dots faintly, so words such as "in", "which", "unions" and "Printing" appear dotless in the image; they are transcribed with normal spelling.

This is a continuation page (caption reads "—Continued"), so the column headings are reprinted but the table body is cut at both ends: the earlier rows of the mining group (which is why the indented "Mining" subtotal of 44 elections exceeds the 4 + 18 shown above it) are on the preceding page, and the table continues past the bottom of the crop — "Business services" is the last row printed on this page, with its rule partly trimmed, and no grand total appears here. The indented rows "Mining" and "Transportation, communication, and other utilities" are group subtotal lines set off by rules. Doubtful marks, all read as printing specks rather than digits or footnote markers: a small dot sits immediately before 633 in "Mining and quarrying of nonmetallic minerals (except fuels)" / "Number of employees eligible to vote"; before 38 in "Local and suburban transit..." / "Valid votes cast for unions – Other local unions"; before 18 in "Automotive repair, services, and garages" / "Number of elections ... Teamsters"; before 159 and before 1,617 in "Health services"; and before 14 in "Business services" / "Number of elections ... Other national unions". In each case I transcribed only the digits. Arithmetic checks pass throughout as transcribed: for every data row, elections won + elections with no representative = total elections, the four union columns sum to each "Total", and union votes + votes for no union = total valid votes cast. The "Transportation, communication, and other utilities" subtotal equals the sum of its six member rows in all 16 columns. No misprints detected.

This is a continuation page of Table 16 (the caption carries "—Continued"), so the five detail rows at the top are the tail of the "Services" division begun on the preceding page; the "Services" row here is that division's subtotal and is set off by horizontal rules, as are "Public administration" and "Total, all industrial groups". Column headings are printed on this page, so they are transcribed. The image is clean and every cell is legible. All internal arithmetic checks out as printed: for each row the union-won plus no-representative elections equal total elections, the four union categories sum to the respective "Total" columns, and union votes plus no-union votes equal total valid votes cast. The faint marks in the "Teamsters" (election) column above the "Services" row and below it are scanning artifacts, not printed values.
