691 of 691 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.

Reader’s notes

p. 212. The crop is a page of a longer table: it begins mid-body with the manufacturing industry groups and ends at the "Manufacturing" subtotal (double rule), so the non-manufacturing groups and any footnote text printed below the table are not on this image. The only footnote reference visible is the small raised marker on the stub heading "Industrial group"; the glyph is faint at this resolution and could be read as a raised "1" or a raised "a" — I transcribed it as ^1, but the footnote itself is not printed on this crop. In the "Manufacturing" subtotal row, the AC cell is printed as "8" preceded by a small stray ink mark that looks like a comma (". 8"); it is a speck, not a digit — the column sums to 8, and I transcribed it as 8. Column alignment checks out: every row's All cases = All C + All R + UD + AC + UC, every All C = CA..CP, every All R = RC+RM+RD, and all sixteen column sums match the printed "Manufacturing" subtotal exactly, so no misprints were detected. Minor typesetting artifacts dropped: a stray period after "Rubber and miscellaneous plastic products" before its leader dots, and the hyphenated line breaks in the three-level column headings ("Union deauthor-ization", "Amend-ment of certifi-cation", "Unit clarifi-cation") which I rejoined.

p. 213. 17 columns: stub, "All cases", eight unfair-labor-practice columns (All C cases, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), four representation columns (All R cases, RC, RM, RD), and UD, AC, UC. The last three columns carry a two-level heading ("Union deauthorization cases" / "UD", etc.), so the two-letter codes appear only in the bottom heading level. The crop cuts the table off at the bottom: the last printed line visible is "Museums, art galleries, and botanical and zoological gardens"; the services subtotal, any further industry groups, and any footnote block for this continuation page are below the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. Doubtful cell: "Communication", column CP. The glyph is small and partly broken; I read it as 1. Both arithmetic checks support 1 — the row's CA-through-CP values then sum to the printed All C cases 779, and the CP column of the six transportation/communication/utilities rows then sums to the printed subtotal 15. Transcribed as 1. The blank gaps between row blocks on the page are spacing only; no section label is printed in them. Indented lines "Mining" and "Transportation, communication, and other utilities" are division subtotals; "Construction", "Wholesale trade", "Retail trade", "Finance, insurance, and real estate" and "U.S. Postal Service" are printed at the same indent as those subtotals (each is a one-line division). Every other row and both subtotal rows balance against their printed row and column totals.

p. 214. The table is printed sideways in the crop (rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise: the column headings are along the image's left edge, the stub column along the image's bottom); the transcription is given in the table's reading orientation. This is a continuation page: it begins mid-list with the last two Services subgroups, so earlier industrial groups are on preceding page(s), but the column headings are reprinted here and are transcribed. The crop ends with the "Total, all industrial groups" line; no footnote text is legibly inside the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. A small clipped fragment of text (a few characters wide, illegible) sits just outside the table's left border alongside the heading band at the image's bottom-left corner — it may be a footnote or caption line cut off by the crop. The first stub label is read as "Social service" (singular); the leader dots begin immediately after it and a trailing "s" ("Social services") cannot be fully ruled out. The stub heading carries a superscript 2 marker, whose footnote is not inside the crop. Arithmetic checks pass on every row: for each row the C, R, UD, AC and UC columns sum to "All cases", the CA–CP columns sum to "All C cases", and RC+RM+RD sum to "All R cases"; nothing appears misprinted.
