The crop shows only the first part of the table: it ends after the "West North Central" division subtotal, and the remaining divisions, the U.S. total line and any footnote text are cut off below. The stub heading carries a raised footnote marker ("Division and State^1"), but no footnote text is printed within this crop, so `footnotes` is empty. Division subtotal rows (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) are printed indented and set off by rules; they are transcribed as ordinary rows in place. All 16 numeric columns of every division subtotal add up exactly from their member states, which supports the column assignments. Minor scan artifacts, none affecting the digits read: a stray tick above the "Other national unions" (votes) column in the Maine row, a faint dot above "276" in the New England row, and a small dash to the left of "83" in the Rhode Island "Total votes for no union" cell (read as part of the dotted leader/rule, not a minus sign). Many state labels are followed by broken dotted leaders, which have been dropped.

Arithmetic cross-checks: every subtotal row shown (South Atlantic, East South Central, West South Central) sums correctly down its columns, and in each data row the union-vote components (AFL-CIO + Teamsters + other national + other local) sum to the "Valid votes cast for unions — Total" column, so column placement is corroborated. No misprints detected. Scan rendering note: the headings print with dotless "i" glyphs (e.g. "representatıon", "unıons") and the AFL-CIO hyphen renders as a long dash; these are transcribed as ordinary text. Row labels are followed by leader dots, which have been dropped.

p. 248. This is a continuation page: the body starts mid-table with Nevada, the last State of the Mountain division, so the earlier divisions and States appear on the preceding page(s). "Mountain", "Pacific" and "Outlying Areas" are indented division subtotal lines; "Total, all States and areas" is the grand total. The scan's typeface has dotless i's throughout (e.g. "Hawaii" reads as "Hawau", "Division" as "Divısıon"); labels are transcribed with normal spelling. All internal arithmetic I could check is consistent: the Pacific and Outlying Areas subtotals equal the sums of their listed States, union-won + no-representative equals total elections, the five union sub-columns sum to the union total, and union votes + no-union votes equal total valid votes cast, in every row including the grand total. No cells were illegible or doubtful.
