Reader’s notes
p. 228. Twelve printed columns: stub, "Total elections" (a tall single heading spanning both heading levels), then Number/Percent pairs under "Objections only", "Challenges only", "Objections and challenges", "Total objections" and "Total challenges". The stub has no printed heading, so cell 0 is empty in both heading rows. Decimal points: the scan drops the decimal point in about ten percent cells, which print as a bare gap (e.g. "9 7" in All representation elections / Total objections Percent; "2 3" and "0 9" and "3 3" in In RD cases; "4 6" in Consent elections / Objections only; "3 4" in Stipulated elections / Challenges only; "10 0" and "20 0" in Expedited elections; "4 1" in Regional Director-directed elections / Challenges only; "38 5" in Board-directed elections / Objections only). Every one of these is a one-decimal percent in a column where all other cells are printed with a point, and each matches its own Number/Total-elections ratio, so I have restored the point in each. No digits were changed. Section labels: "By type of case." and "By type of election." are shown here with the trailing period I can resolve on the scan; the mark may be a colon whose upper dot has dropped out at this resolution. Both are label-only rows with no values. Footnote 2 ends without a period, as printed. Arithmetic checks pass throughout: both the type-of-case and the type-of-election blocks sum to the "All representation elections" line in every one of the eleven numeric columns (4,259 total elections; 323, 148, 92, 415, 240), and every printed percent agrees with its number divided by that row's total elections. Nothing was computed or corrected. The row label "All representation elections" is followed by broken runs of leader dots with gaps; these are leaders only and have been dropped.
