p. 241. The crop cuts the table off after the "West North Central" subtotal row: the remaining geographic divisions (South Atlantic, Mountain, Pacific, etc.) and the U.S. total, plus the text of footnote 1 attached to the stub heading "Division and State", are not on this image, so `footnotes` is empty. Doubtful cell: Middle Atlantic row, "Valid votes cast for unions / AFL-CIO unions" column. The scan renders the leading digit as a broken stroke that looks like "!2,210"; I read it as 12,210, which is consistent with the printed state values above it (5,158 + 2,555 + 4,497 = 12,210) and with the row's own Total of 19,288. Stray scan artifacts, not part of any value and not transcribed: a small ink speck between the "Other national unions" and "Other local unions" election columns on the South Dakota line, a stray period before South Dakota's "0" in the Teamsters election column, and a speck before Nebraska's "51" in the Teamsters valid-votes column. No other arithmetic anomalies: every state row's union-vote components sum to its union total, union total plus no-union votes equals total valid votes cast, and each division subtotal equals the sum of its states as printed.

p. 242. The crop is a continuation page ("—Continued") and is cut off at the bottom: the Mountain division runs from Montana through Utah here, but the remaining Mountain state(s) (e.g. Nevada), the Mountain subtotal line, and the Pacific division are below the bottom edge and are not transcribed. The stub heading carries footnote marker 1 ("Division and State^1"), but no footnote text is printed on this crop (it appears on the table's first page). Scan artifacts, none of which I read as data: a stray dash left of the "5" in the Delaware "no representative chosen" cell; a stray mark left of the "9" in the New Mexico "no representative chosen" cell; stray dots around the "4" in Wyoming "AFL-CIO unions" (elections) and around Utah's "7"/"1" and "0" cells. Utah's Teamsters-elections digit is printed as a broken "1" and is read as 1. Internal arithmetic checks pass: in every division subtotal row each column equals the sum of its member states, and in each row the union-vote components (AFL-CIO + Teamsters + other national + other local) sum to the "Valid votes cast for unions — Total" figure. No printed value appears to be a misprint.

p. 243. The crop continues a table from the previous page: the body opens on "Nevada", the last State of the Mountain division, whose earlier States are not on this image. Column headings are printed here, so they are given. A footnote line is printed below the table rule but is sliced by the bottom edge of the crop — only the upper few pixels of its letters survive. It appears to be footnote 1 (the marker on "Division and State"), ending "...used by the Bureau of the Census, U.S. Department of Commerce", but too little of it is legible to transcribe faithfully, so `footnotes` is left empty rather than reconstructed. A small isolated speck sits in the "Valid votes cast for unions / Total" column just above Nevada's 361, in the blank band between the heading rule and the first data row. It is not attached to any value and reads as a printing artifact, not a footnote marker. Internal arithmetic is consistent throughout, which supports the column assignment: the Pacific line equals the sum of Washington through Guam in all 16 numeric columns; Outlying Areas equals Puerto Rico plus Virgin Islands; and in the grand total 1,105+456+55+172 = 1,788, 1,788+2,281 = 4,069, 68,873+18,555+3,957+11,019 = 102,404, and 102,404+110,075 = 212,479. No printed value appears to be a misprint. Row labels are followed by long leader-dot runs of uneven length (e.g. "Alaska .... ·"), which have been dropped; the labels themselves carry no footnote markers.
