Reader’s notes
p. 223. 17 columns: the stub plus eight case-type panels (All C, CA, CB, CC, CD, CE, CG, CP), each with a Number and a Percent of cases closed column. The stub heading "Stage of disposition" spans both heading levels. Decimal points: in many percent cells the period is faint or has dropped out of the scan, so the digits read as e.g. "100 0" (CC, total row), "10 4" and "1 2" (CA), "5 4" (CB), "0 7" (CD, "After issuance of complaint" row), "16 9" (CE), "0 3" (CB "After Board order..."; CD "After circuit court decree..."), "0 0" (CD and CP in several rows), "0 7" (CP "After Board order..."). All of these are one-decimal percentages and I have transcribed them with the decimal point restored; no digits are in doubt, only the punctuation. Stray ink marks that are not footnote markers: a dot before "77.3" (CC, "Before issuance of complaint"), an apostrophe-like mark after "48" (CP, "After issuance of complaint"), and dots in the left margin of the CP column in the "After Board order..." and "After Board decision..." rows, plus a speck above the CD column head and above the CC column in the "After Board order..." row. None are attached raised digits, so none were transcribed as markers. The only footnote marker in the table is the raised 1 on the caption year ("Fiscal Year 1987^1"), which is excluded with the caption. Arithmetic check (not a correction, for confidence only): each panel's eight stage rows sum exactly to its printed total, in all eight panels.
