p. 231. Four printed columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken", and the two-column spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case" split into AC and UC. Doubtful / internally inconsistent cells (all transcribed exactly as they appear on this low-contrast 1-bit scan, not corrected): - "Requests for review received", column "Cases in which formal actions taken": reads as a single narrow glyph "1", but AC=1 and UC=23 sum to 24, and the following row "Board action on requests ruled upon total" is 28. A dropped leading "2" (i.e. 24) is plausible; the printed glyph is the only one I can see, so "1" is what is recorded. - "Transferred by Regional Directors for initial decision": stub column reads "1" while AC and UC both read "0". One of the three is likely misprinted or has a faint digit lost in the scan. - Row-to-row column arithmetic is consistent down each column ("By Regional Directors" 110 + "By Board" 9 = 119; AC 6+1 = 7; UC 100+8 = 108; Granted 18 + Denied 10 + Remanded 0 = 28), but the across-row sums do not match the first column: "Hearings completed" 110 vs AC+UC = 105; "Decisions issued after hearing" 119 vs 115; "By Regional Directors" 110 vs 106. These are transcribed as printed; the first column counts cases while the AC/UC columns count actions, so the mismatch may be in the source rather than the reading, but it could not be verified from the crop. The label "Board action on requests ruled upon total" is printed with a gap (leader dots or a dash) between "upon" and "total"; the connector was dropped per the leader-dot rule. The caption carries footnote marker 1 ("...Fiscal Year 1986^1"); the caption itself is excluded, and the footnote text is given in `footnotes`.
