Verification: I summed the 22 industry rows above the "Manufacturing" subtotal for all 16 numeric columns; every column reconciles exactly with the printed subtotal (1,728 / 662 / 440 / 155 / 11 / 56 / 1,066 / 128,075 / 115,740 / 51,179 / 38,433 / 8,315 / 1,014 / 3,417 / 64,561 / 39,822). The three mining rows also check internally (elections won + no representative = total elections; union votes + no-union votes = total valid votes; union sub-columns sum to the union total). "Automotive and other transportation equipment", "Valid votes cast for unions / Other national unions": a stray ink dot sits just left of the digit in this cell; the value is 0 and the dot is a printing artifact, not a footnote marker or digit. "Manufacturing" is printed indented as a subtotal line; the label is transcribed as printed. The "AFL-CIO" headings are set with an en-dash-like rule between AFL and CIO; transcribed with a plain hyphen.

The crop is cut at both ends of the body: rows preceding "Mining and quarrying of nonmetallic minerals (except fuels)" are on the previous page, and the table continues past the last visible row, "Miscellaneous repair services", which sits flush against the bottom edge (its digits are complete and legible). No footnote text is visible on this crop, although the stub heading carries a superscript 1 marker ("Industrial group^1"). Row structure: the indented "Mining" line and the indented "Transportation, communication, and other utilities" line are division subtotals, each set off by horizontal rules; "Mining" subtotals rows that begin on the previous page. The lines "Construction", "Wholesale trade", "Retail trade", "Finance, insurance, and real estate" and "U.S. Postal Service" are printed at the same indent as those subtotals (single-group divisions). The four detail rows (Museums… through Miscellaneous services) are the tail of the "Services" division, whose subtotal row follows them; "Services" and "Public administration" are set off by rules as division subtotal lines and are indented in the stub. All rows are internally consistent: the four union columns sum to the adjacent "Total" in both the elections-won and valid-votes-for-unions blocks, elections won plus elections with no representative equal total elections, and votes for unions plus votes for no union equal total valid votes cast. No misprints detected. Punctuation in the footnote is faint in the scan: the colon after "Source" and the periods in "D.C.," are barely visible at this resolution but are supplied as the standard printed form; the wording itself is legible. In the "Public administration" row, "Total votes for no union" is printed with a broken final digit that renders like "26l"; it is 261 (confirmed by 140 + 261 = 401, the printed total valid votes cast).
