Final Outcome of Representation Elections in Cases Closed, Fiscal Year 1985

p. 188. 16 printed columns. Column 8 ("Elections in which no representative chosen") and column 15 ("In elections where no representative chosen") are tall single headings spanning all three heading levels; "Total" and "In elections won" under "Employees eligible to vote" span the second and third levels. Periods are not resolved anywhere in the small table type of this scan: every cell of the "Percent won" column prints as e.g. "40 3", "100 0", with no visible decimal point, although the values are unambiguously one-decimal percentages (1,069/2,651 = 40.3, etc.). I have restored the decimal points. For the same reason the period cannot be seen after the section letter "A" or after the "v" in the two- and three-union row labels; I have written "A." and "v." on the publication's convention, but only the letters themselves are legible. Cells holding an em-dash rule ("——", meaning none) are given as "". Printed zeros are kept as 0. All internal arithmetic checks out as transcribed: each subtotal row equals the sum of its member rows, the union-breakdown columns sum to "Total won" and to "In elections won" in every row, and "Total elections" = "Total won" + "Elections in which no representative chosen". No misprints detected. The crop ends immediately below the "Total representation elections" row, so only section "A. All representation elections" is present; any further sections of Table 13 continue on a later page. Footnote markers 1 (on the caption) and 2 (on the "Total elections" heading) are referenced but their footnote texts fall outside the crop, so `footnotes` is empty. In the "AFL-CIO v. Teamsters v. Local" row the figure 1 in the "Total won" column is printed with a serif that makes it resemble a lowercase l; it is the digit 1 (row total 1 = 1 won + 0 no representative).

p. 189. 16 columns. Panel B only; this crop is a "—Continued" page, so panel A and any earlier panels are on the preceding page, and no footnote texts are printed on this crop (the markers 1, on the caption, and 2, on "Total elections", refer to notes printed elsewhere). Decimal points: in the "Percent won" column the printed decimal point is a very small dot that is largely lost in this 1-bit scan, so the cells read visually as "46 1", "100 0", etc. I transcribed them as decimals ("46.1", "100.0"). This is confirmed arithmetically: in every row the value equals total won / total elections x 100 to one decimal place (e.g. 908/1,971 = 46.1; 13/16 = 81.3; 1,702/3,545 = 48.0). Section line: the centered panel head renders as "B Elections in RC cases"; the period after "B" is faint/dropped in the scan and I restored it as "B. Elections in RC cases" for consistency with the series' panel labels. The label is the only content of that row. Dash rules ("———") used as the "none" symbol are transcribed as "" throughout; printed zeros are kept as "0" (e.g. Teamsters v Teamsters, and the 0s in the three-union rows). Verification: every subtotal and the grand total reconcile down all 15 numeric columns — 1-union elections, 2-union elections, 3 (or more)-union elections, and Total RC elections (3,313 + 226 + 6 = 3,545; 188,784 + 21,222 + 1,155 = 211,161; 61,063 + 14,545 + 391 = 75,999; 127,721 + 6,677 + 764 = 135,162). Row-internal splits also check (e.g. AFL-CIO v Teamsters: 43 + 15 = 58 and 628 + 2,034 = 2,662). No misprints found. Minor OCR artifacts in the image that are not part of the text: dotless "i" in several labels/headings ("1-unıon elections", "unıons") and a stray mark above the "Total won" heading; both read normally.

p. 190. The crop is a continuation page: it carries the full column headings but only sections C and D of the table (sections A and B are on the preceding page). 16 columns: stub plus 15 data columns. Punctuation lost to the scan: periods are barely visible throughout this page. In the "Percent won" column the values are printed as decimals (e.g. "17 8", "100 0") and are transcribed with the decimal point restored (17.8, 100.0); every one of them is consistent with the won/total ratio in the same row, which confirms the reading. Likewise the section labels read "C Elections in RM cases" / "D Elections in RD cases" and the versus rows read "AFL-CIO v Teamsters"; I have written them with the conventional period after the letter and after "v", but the dots themselves are not legible in the scan. Em-dash rules ("----") marking "not applicable" are transcribed as empty cells, as instructed; printed zeros are kept as 0. Note the resulting mix in the 2-union blocks, where some cells are dashes and others are explicit 0s, exactly as printed. All row and column totals check out arithmetically (1-union + 2-union = Total for both RM and RD, and the component columns sum to the "Total won", "Total" and "In elections won" columns), so no misprints are suspected. Minor stray ink: a small tick above the "Teamsters" column in the AFL-CIO row of section C, and a small mark before the "2-union elections" label in section C; both are scan artifacts, not footnote markers. Footnote 2's marker is attached to the "Total elections" column heading.
