Reader’s notes
p. 186. The scan is a degraded 1-bit image in which small round marks are systematically dropped: the dots over many i's are missing ("Unıon", "orıgınal", "Stıpulated", "Expedıted", "Dırector"), and so are the decimal points in the percent columns, which print as e.g. "100 0", "32 3", "67 7". Because every value in those columns is a percentage to one decimal place, I have restored the decimal point ("100.0", "32.3", ...); the digits themselves are clear. The sentence-final periods in the two footnotes are lost to the same degradation and have likewise been restored. In the "Expedited elections" row every percent cell holds a printed dash rule ("——"), transcribed as "". Stray scan artefacts, not transcribed: a dot above the "100.0" in the Consent elections / Total rerun elections percent cell, a comma-like speck just right of the "0" in the Expedited elections / No union chosen number cell, and a tick mark after the "By type of case" section label. The table has eight value columns plus the stub; the stub head is blank in the printed heading block.
