Reader’s notes
p. 178. Decimal points in the percent columns did not reproduce in this scan: every percent value is printed with a visible gap instead of a period (e.g. "100 0", "83 3", "0 6"). They are transcribed with the decimal point, since all are one-decimal percentages and each matches Number/Total for its column to the tenth. If a strictly literal rendering is wanted, replace each "." in the percent columns with the printed gap. The table is internally consistent: in every one of the eight case-type columns the eight stage rows sum exactly to the printed "Total number of cases closed" (All C 33,946; CA 23,726; CB 8,444; CC 1,090; CD 288; CE 51; CG 38; CP 309), and every percent matches its Number/Total. Minor scan artifacts, none affecting the reading: a stray vertical ink mark sits in the "All C cases / Percent" column beside the "After hearing opened" and "After administrative law judge's decision" rows (the value there is 0.6); a small tick precedes the CE "Number" 1 in the "After circuit court decree" row (value is 1); the source's italic/serif "1" in several cells is narrow but unambiguous. The caption's raised 1 footnote marker belongs to the title, which is excluded per instructions, but its footnote text is reported.
