The division subtotal rows (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) are indented under their states in the original; indentation is not preserved in the stub text. All four subtotals and all per-row vote breakdowns (union components summing to the union total, and union total plus "no union" equalling total valid votes cast) check out exactly as transcribed, so no misprints are suspected. A stray comma-like typographic mark sits in the blank stub area just above the "Division and State" label; it is a printing artifact, not data, and is not transcribed. Scan quality is good; "AFL-CIO" is printed with a line break between "AFL-" and "CIO" in both heading levels and has been rejoined.

p. 233. This is a continuation page (caption reads "—Continued"); the table begins on an earlier page and continues past the bottom of this crop. 17 printed columns. The crop is cut off at the bottom: the "Utah" row is the last row and its baseline sits on the bottom edge of the image — the digits are still legible and were transcribed, but the row immediately following it (and the Mountain division subtotal) is not on this image. The Montana–Utah block is therefore an incomplete division group whose subtotal line falls outside the crop. No footnote texts are printed within the crop; the superscript 1 attached to the stub heading "Division and State" refers to a note printed elsewhere in the table, so `footnotes` is empty. Arithmetic checks all pass as printed: for every state row the four union components sum to the "Valid votes cast for unions — Total", and that total plus "Total votes for no union" equals "Total valid votes cast"; the South Atlantic, East South Central, and West South Central lines each equal the column sums of their member states in all 16 numeric columns. No suspected misprints. The division subtotal labels ("South Atlantic", "East South Central", "West South Central") are printed indented under the stub but carry values, so they are transcribed as ordinary data rows rather than label-only section lines.

This crop is a continuation page: it begins mid-table with Nevada (the last State of the Mountain division) and the Mountain division subtotal; earlier divisions are on the preceding pages. Division subtotal rows (Mountain, Pacific, Outlying Areas) are indented in the stub, as is the final "Total, all States and areas" row; I kept their wording as printed. Suspected misprint / doubtful cell: Pacific, column "Valid votes cast for unions — Total" reads 3,055 as printed, but the component columns sum to 3,065 (2,304 + 458 + 136 + 167), the six Pacific States' Total column entries sum to 3,065, and 3,065 + 4,420 (no union) = 7,485, the printed "Total valid votes cast". The glyph is ambiguous at this scan resolution; I transcribed it as it appears (3,055) without correcting. Every other row and column in the crop cross-foots correctly. In the footnote the small periods in "U.S." and the final period after "Commerce" are not legible in this 1-bit scan; I rendered them in their conventional positions.
