Printed zeros ("0") are distinct from those rules and are kept — e.g. in "National v Local" the "Other local unions" cell under "elections lost" is a printed 0 while the two cells to its left are dash rules, and the whole "elections lost" block of the 3-or-more-union rows is printed as 0s. The caption carries footnote marker 1 ("Fiscal Year 1984^1"), but the footnote text is not inside this crop, so `footnotes` is empty. The crop ends at the "Total representation elections" line; a panel B (and the footnote block) presumably continues below/on the following page. Internal arithmetic checks: every subtotal and the grand total reconcile with the detail rows, both down the columns and across the "won + no union + lost" components of "Total valid votes cast". No misprints detected.

The crop is a continuation page (caption reads "—Continued") and contains only panel B of the table; panel A and any footnote text (the caption carries a raised "1" marker) are on earlier/later pages, so `footnotes` is empty. Column structure: 13 numeric columns. "Valid votes cast in elections won" spans six columns (Votes for unions: Total, AFL-CIO unions, Teamsters, Other national unions, Other local unions; plus Total votes for no union); the same six repeat under "Valid votes cast in elections lost". "Total valid votes cast" and the stub heading are tall single headings repeated down all three levels. Section line: printed as "B" followed by "Elections in RC cases"; the period after the "B" is faint/not clearly visible in the scan but is transcribed as "B. Elections in RC cases" by analogy with the table's A/B panel labelling. Em-dash rules ("——") denoting not-applicable cells are transcribed as empty strings; explicitly printed zeros are kept as "0". In several rows (e.g. National v Local, Teamsters v Local v Local) a printed 0 and a dash rule sit side by side; these were distinguished carefully and each kept under its own column. p. 224. The crop is a continuation page: it carries the column headings but cuts off mid-table. Section D (Elections in RD cases) is incomplete — the last fully printed row on the image is "AFL-CIO v National"; its values are legible, but the table continues below the crop edge. Suspected misprint, section C, row "Teamsters", last column ("Valid votes cast in elections lost" / "Total votes for no union"): printed as 1,430, transcribed as printed. It is arithmetically inconsistent two ways — the row would sum to 2,128 rather than the printed total valid votes of 1,128, and the column would sum to 3,584 rather than the printed "1-union elections" subtotal of 2,584. Both checks are satisfied by 430, so the leading "1," is likely a typesetting/scan error, but the characters "1,430" are what appear on the page. Every other row and column in sections C and D cross-foots exactly. Section headings "C. Elections in RM cases" and "D. Elections in RD cases": the period after the letter is very faint in the scan (only a wide gap is clearly visible); I have transcribed it as a period in line with the standard formatting of these section lines. Two stray ink marks in section D, row "1-union elections": a short dash-like mark sits immediately left of 4,962 in the "elections lost / AFL-CIO unions" column (not a minus sign — the value is 4,962), and a similar mark precedes the row label "1-union elections". Both are read as scan artifacts and omitted. All em-dash rules used as "not applicable" fillers are rendered as empty cells; printed zeros are kept as 0. "AFL-CIO" is printed with an en dash in the original and is normalized to a hyphen here.

p. 225. This image is a "—Continued" page: the body begins mid-table, so the rows preceding "AFL-CIO v Local" (the earlier 2-union election pairings) are on the previous page. Column headings are printed on this page and are transcribed. Empty cells in the first three data rows are printed as em-dash rules ("——"), rendered here as "". Printed zeros are kept as 0. The label of the fourth row is printed "2-union elections"; the scan renders the "ni" of "union" indistinctly (it reads almost as "2-umon"), but the word is certainly "union". The row is a subtotal, set off by a horizontal rule and indented; "Total RD elections" is likewise indented and set off by a double rule. The stub-adjacent heading "Total valid votes cast" carries stray scan marks (a comma-like speck before "Total", a short dash after "valid", and a small tick at the foot of the column); none are footnote markers, and the heading reads "Total valid votes cast". Arithmetic check (not used to alter any cell): every row is internally consistent as printed — e.g. 224+84+80+265 = 653 and 653+18+23+50 = 744 for "2-union elections"; 6,009+1,301+231+679 = 8,220, 4,976+975+67+432 = 6,450, and 8,220+4,070+6,450+14,614 = 33,354 for "Total RD elections".
