p. 191. Seven columns: stub, "Cases in which formal actions taken" (a tall heading spanning both header levels), and five columns under the spanner "Formal actions taken by type of case". Doubtful cells: the UD column of "Board action on request ruled upon, total" and of "Denied" both appear to read "61" (the final character is a thin stroke that could be a 1 or a damaged glyph). I viewed the image twice; both times the mark is clearly wider than the single-digit entries elsewhere in the UD column, so I transcribed "61". These two values are mutually consistent (Granted 0 + Denied 61 + Remanded 0 = 61) but sit oddly against the UD column above them, where only 2 requests for review were received and 0 were withdrawn; a reader may want to verify against the source. Everything else in the UD column is a single digit. Arithmetic convention worth knowing: in this table the "Total formal actions taken" column equals RC + RM + RD only and excludes UD. That holds exactly in every data row (e.g. 1,031 + 128 + 218 = 1,377; 400 + 7 + 69 = 476), so the UD column is reported alongside rather than inside the total. Nothing was computed or altered. Apparent internal discrepancy, transcribed as printed: under "Board decision after review, total" (82 total, 75 RC), the three "Regional directors' decisions" sub-rows sum to 41 + 13 + 8 = 62 and 36 + 11 + 8 = 55, each 20 short of the stated total, while the "Cases" column does reconcile (43 + 26 + 17 = 86) and the two "Outcome" sub-rows reconcile in every column (66 + 16 = 82, 61 + 14 = 75). The "Modified" row reads 13 and 11 on both viewings; I did not adjust it. "Review of regional directors' decisions", "Regional directors' decisions" and "Outcome" are label-only section lines whose sub-items are printed indented beneath them; they carry no values. Two row labels wrap across printed lines and were joined: "Transferred by regional directors for initial deci-sion" and "Withdrawn after request granted, before Board review". The caption carries a superscript 1, but no footnote text appears within the crop; the area below the table's bottom rule is not shown, so footnote 1 may be cut off.

A heavier double rule separates the UD column from RD, and another separates the stub from the data; these are rules only, not extra columns. Two rows carry a label and no values and are transcribed with empty data cells: "Review of regional directors' supplemental decisions" (printed over two lines, "deci-/sions", rejoined) and "Regional directors' decisions". Possible misprint as printed: in the "Cases in which formal actions taken" column, "In stipulated elections" is 601 while its two sub-rows are 344 and 256 (sum 600). All other columns of that group add correctly (342+239=581, 309+192=501, 8+7=15, 25+40=65, 0+3=3). Transcribed exactly as printed. Row labels wrapping onto two lines and rejoined: "In directed elections (after transfer by regional director)" and "Withdrawn after request granted, before Board review". The scan renders many dotted i's faintly (e.g. "Decisions", "directors", "stipulated"); wording was read from context and is not in doubt. The caption's footnote marker 1 belongs to the omitted caption line.
