290 of 290 figures sit in a row or column sum that works out.
p. 228. Decimal points: this 1-bit scan drops the printed decimal point in every percentage cell, so the page renders them as "100 0", "24 0", "39 6", etc. They are transcribed with the point restored ("100.0", "24.0", "39.6"); the same applies to the period after the section letter, printed as "A Certification elections (RC and RM)" and transcribed as "A. Certification elections (RC and RM)". No digits were changed. Row label "400 to 499" is rendered by the scan as "4C0 to 499"; the damaged character is a zero (confirmed by the surrounding sequence 300 to 399 / 400 to 499 / 500 to 599). Arithmetic checks all pass, which anchors the integer columns: in every data row the five "Number" cells sum exactly to "Total elections"; the column totals in the "Total RC and RM elections" row (982 + 442 + 57 + 182 + 1,820) sum to 3,483; and the "Number eligible to vote" column sums to exactly 171,548, the printed total. The cumulative-percent column is also an exact running sum of the percent-of-total column. A few printed percentages differ by one unit in the last place from the ratio they represent; they are transcribed as printed, not corrected: AFL-CIO "5.6" for 54 of 982 and "1.9" for 18 of 982 (rows "50 to 59", "80 to 89", "100 to 109"); Teamsters "1.5" for 7 of 442 (row "60 to 69"); Other national unions "5.2" for 3 of 57 (rows "40 to 49", "100 to 109", "300 to 399"); Other local unions "7.2" for 13 of 182 (row "50 to 59") and "1.7" for 3 of 182 (several rows); no-representative "2.4" for 45 of 1,820 (row "80 to 89"). Of these the most doubtful single reading is the Teamsters percent in row "60 to 69", where the degraded glyph could be 1.6 rather than 1.5. The "Total RC and RM elections" row has no value printed in the "Cumulative percent of total" column; it is left empty. Percent cells are blank wherever the corresponding count is 0. There is a small stray speck of toner in the left margin of the last column ("Percent by size class" under "Elections in which no representative was chosen") in row "100 to 109", just before "1.3"; it is page dirt, not a minus sign or footnote marker. The crop shows only panel A (certification elections); the table's panel B continues beyond this image. No footnotes are printed within the crop.
p. 229. Crop is the continuation page of Table 17 (panel B only); panel A is on the preceding page, so the "Total RD elections" line here is the panel total, not a table total. Decimal points: this is a 1-bit scan in which the small decimal-point glyph is dropped almost everywhere, so percentages print as e.g. "31 6", "100 0", "8 8". I have transcribed them with the decimal point restored ("31.6", "100.0", "8.8"), since that is unambiguously the printed value — digit-grouping commas in the "Number eligible to vote" column did survive the scan and are transcribed as printed. No value was otherwise altered. Section line: the stub reads "B" followed by a wide gap and "Decertification elections (RD)". A period after the "B" (matching the usual "A."/"B." sectioning in this table) is not visible in the scan; I transcribed it without one. Footnote: terminal punctuation after "terms" is not legible, so the footnote is given without a closing period. Blank vs. zero: in the four union-group panels many "Percent by size class" cells are blank beside a printed "0" in the adjacent Number column (e.g. "Under 10" / Other national unions, "30 to 39" / Other local unions); these are left as "" per the printed page. Likewise the "Percent by size class" cell under "Elections in which no representative was chosen" is blank for "130 to 139", "150 to 159" and "800 and over", where the Number is 0. The "Cumulative percent of total" cell on the "Total RD elections" row is blank as printed. Arithmetic checks (not corrections): every column foots to its printed total — Number eligible to vote sums to 38,370; Total elections to 922; AFL-CIO 159; Teamsters 55; Other national 5; Other local 13; no representative 690. Each "Percent by size class" column sums to 100.0, and the running sum of "Percent of total" reproduces the printed cumulative column exactly. No misprints detected. A small stray ink mark sits in the body of the "Elections in which no representative was chosen" column just above the "Total RD elections" row; it is not a value and is not transcribed.
