p. 177. Eight columns: stub, Total, and six columns under the spanner "Identification of filing party". The stub has no printed heading, so cell 0 of both heading levels is empty; "Total" is a tall heading spanning both levels. The table body is divided by six centered section bands ("All cases", "Unfair labor practice cases^2", "Representation cases^3", "Union-shop deauthorization cases", "Amendment of certification cases", "Unit clarification cases"); each is transcribed as a label-only row, and the same five row labels (Pending October 1, 1982 / Received fiscal 1983 / On docket fiscal 1983 / Closed fiscal 1983 / Pending September 30, 1983) repeat under each. The asterisk footnote marker is printed raised and to the LEFT of each "Pending October 1, 1982" figure in the Total column (*23,000, *19,956, *2,839, *89, *13, *103); per convention it is transcribed after the value, e.g. "23,000^*". The asterisk appears only in the Total column, not in the six filing-party columns. In the "Union-shop deauthorization cases" band, every cell except Total and Individuals holds a dash rule (------), transcribed as "". Arithmetic check (not applied to the cells, only for alignment confidence): all 30 data rows sum across the six filing-party columns exactly to the printed Total, and the five "All cases" rows equal the sum of the five case-type bands. No misprints detected. Minor uncertainty: in this 1-bit scan the sentence-ending periods in footnotes 1-3 are very faint or dropped out ("definitions of terms Advisory opinion (AO) cases not included See table 22"). I have rendered them with periods, as the spacing indicates sentence breaks; a reader needing byte-exact footnote text should re-check the original. Also, the body typeface renders "i" dots weakly throughout (e.g., "Pendlng", "fiscal"), which is a scan artifact only and does not affect any value.
