p. 256. Two-panel table: the same two column headings are printed over a left and a right panel. Transcribed as one 3-column grid with all left-panel rows first (section A through the end of the 8(b) subsection list, ending at 8(b)(1)(2)(3)(6)) followed by all right-panel rows (beginning with the 8(b) "Recapitulation" block and ending at "Total cases 8(g)"); the headings are given once. Scan quality: this page is a coarse 1-bit scan in which full stops are frequently lost. Decimal points in the "Percent of total cases" column print as gaps (e.g. "100 0", "17 7"); I have restored them as decimal points, since every value in that column is a one-decimal percentage. Likewise the full stops in the section labels ("A. Charges filed ... under sec. 8(a)", "B1. Analysis of 8(b)(4)", "C. Charges filed under sec. 8(e)") are faint but are the standard typography of this table. The closing-then-opening parenthesis pair ")(" in the subsection labels frequently images as a single "X"-like blot; all such labels are read as "8(a)(1)(3)", "8(b)(4)(A)(B)" etc. Possible misprint: row "8(a)(1)(3)" shows 45.1 in the Percent column, but 14,091 / 31,281 = 45.05, which would normally print as 45.0. The digit reads as a 1 rather than a 0; transcribed as printed. Every other percentage in the table is consistent with its own number and the relevant total. Arithmetic cross-checks: all column-1 counts I read reproduce the printed totals and recapitulation figures exactly (e.g. the 8(a) subsection detail sums to 31,281; the 8(b) detail sums to 12,563 and reproduces the recapitulation values 8,206 / 1,690 / 913 / 2,987 / 46 / 42 / 600; the 8(b)(4) and 8(b)(7) analyses sum to 2,987 and 600 and reproduce their own recapitulations). This gives good independent support for the digits in the "Number of cases" column. "Subsections of sec. 8(a)" and "Subsections of sec. 8(b)" are stub headings printed on their own line with no values; the indented "Total cases" line beneath each carries the figures, so each is given as two rows. Scattered stray leader dots and ink specks between the labels and the figures (e.g. beside 8(a)(1)(2), 8(b)(4), 8(b)(1)(2)(6), 8(b)(4)(A)(B)) were dropped. The 1980 column "Number of cases showing specific allegations" is printed with "allega-/tions" hyphenated across lines; joined here.
