The crop ends partway down the table: the South Atlantic division block begins with Delaware, Maryland and District of Columbia, and the remaining states, the division total and any grand total continue on the following page/crop. The stub heading carries a raised footnote marker 1 ("Division and State^1"), but the footnote text itself is not printed within this crop, so `footnotes` is empty. Arithmetic verification: every division subtotal row (New England, Middle Atlantic, East North Central, West North Central) sums exactly from its member states in all 16 numeric columns, and in every data row the "won by unions — Total" equals the sum of its four union-type columns, total elections equals wins plus no-representative elections, and total valid votes cast equals union votes plus no-union votes. No discrepancies or suspected misprints were found. The scan shows typical 1-bit artifacts (dotted i/ı characters in headings, a stray tick mark under "Other national unions" and beside the Wisconsin row), but no digit was ambiguous. Leader dots after each state name were dropped per instructions.

The crop also begins in the middle of the South Atlantic group (Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia and any other states of that group appear on the preceding page), so the South Atlantic subtotal row cannot be checked against the states shown here. Arithmetic check of the regional subtotals against the states transcribed: East South Central, West South Central and Mountain reconcile in all 16 columns, and Outlying Areas reconciles in all 16 columns. Pacific reconciles in 15 of 16 columns; in column 10 the states as transcribed (Washington 2,988 + Oregon 1,962 + California 24,191 + Alaska 273 + Hawaii 849 + Guam 0) sum to 30,263 while the printed Pacific subtotal reads 30,363 — a 100 difference. I re-examined that block and the digits read as transcribed; the discrepancy is either a printed error or a single mis-scanned hundreds digit in one of the Pacific state cells or the subtotal of that column. Values are given as printed, uncorrected. Minor legibility points: the scan is a 1-bit halftone, so periods are often lost — the abbreviations in footnote 1 ("U.S. Department of Commerce") show no visible periods and the footnote shows no terminal period; the periods are supplied as the conventional reading. The row-label leader dots have been dropped, as instructed. Guam is printed with 0 in every column.
